Wayne Watson

Wayne Watson joined the firm as a shareholder in 2010 following the merger of Wagstaff & Watson, P.C., with McMahon Surovik Suttle, P.C. With a practice primarily focused on Civil Trials & Appeals and Mediation, ninety percent of Wayne’s practice is devoted to litigation. He offers extensive expertise in a wide range of areas, including Business & Commercial Law, Construction Law, Eminent Domain, Insurance Law, Personal Injury, Probate and Estate Trust Administration, Products Liability, Professional Liability, Real Estate Law, and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).

Wayne graduated from Texas Christian University in 1986 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, Cum Laude, before earning his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law in 1989. In 2010, he received his Mediator Training Certification from Dispute Resolution Services of North Texas, Inc.

Board Certified in Consumer and Commercial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1997, Wayne has earned a reputation for his high level of professionalism and dedication to his clients. He has received numerous accolades, including being recognized by Martindale-Hubbell for high professional achievement and being named a Texas Super Lawyer.

Wayne is deeply involved in professional organizations, having served as Chair of the District 14 Grievance Committee from 2013 to 2015, as President of the Abilene Bar Association (2012-13), and as President-elect (2011-12) and Secretary/Treasurer (2010-11). He is also a Council Member of the Consumer and Commercial Law Section of the State Bar of Texas (2020-2024).
