Brenton D. Hill (“Brent”) originally joined McMahon Surovik Suttle in 2009 as an associate attorney, where he quickly established himself as a trusted legal advisor. After leaving the firm in 2012, Brent spent over a decade in the trust business, representing banks and trust companies in their fiduciary roles as trustees and executors. He most notably served at First Financial Trust in Abilene, where he rose to the position of Senior Vice President, before returning to the practice of law in 2023.

Brent rejoined McMahon Surovik Suttle in April 2024, where he now focuses his practice on Estate Planning, Probate, Trust Administration, Business and Commercial Law, Entity Formation and Governance, and Oil and Gas matters. His unique experience in both the legal and trust business allows him to provide clients with insightful and comprehensive guidance on complex fiduciary and estate matters.

Brent is highly active in the Abilene community, where he has lived with his wife and two children. He was previously recognized as one of Abilene’s Top 20 Professionals Under 40 by the Abilene Chamber of Commerce. Brent currently serves as the President Elect of the Abilene Bar Association and holds leadership roles in several other local organizations. He is the Past Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Global Samaritan Resources, Vice President of Finance for the Board of Frontier Texas, and Chair of the Salvation Army Abilene Advisory Board.

Brent earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Baylor University School of Law in 2009, where he was ranked 5th in his class and served on the Law Review. He also holds a B.B.A. in Finance, summa cum laude, from Baylor University. Brent is a Certified Trust & Fiduciary Advisor and has furthered his expertise through additional post-graduate education, including auditing the LLM Level Post Mortem Estate Planning Course at the University of Houston in 2018.
